Happy Birthday to myself, Juky!
Today is my birthday and the happiest ever. It is quite ironic that the happiest birthday I had was not with my parents; however, I understand without them I would not be here; therefore a huge part of this happiness originates from them, my lovely parents.
You seeā¦ From my memory, caretakers celebrated my birthday when I was a kid in China but I do not remember much and my ability to feel emotions was not developed yet. Coming back to Brazil, parents couldnāt understand the significance of celebrations. My father would say: ājust treat everyday as your birthday. There is no need to celebrate.ā And my mother would argue: āyour birthday is the day when I suffered the most. Your dad didnāt do much! And you should be thinking what to gift mom and not the way around.ā
In retrospect, I donāt blame my parents because they come from a generation of a different culture and social economical background, which I inherently respect their commitment for survival. I am proud of all their accomplishments and devotion for me and my brother.
Recently, my life have been filled with relationships that worth a lot of my devotion. God Aben Sophie.ļ¼yuie Esther Charlesļ¼ A few but enough. If these people are around I envision having them around my whole life. I pray for our everlasting relationship.
