Random Encounter
Went outside of school rollerblading to college food accessibility but I realized that I could do that online using Google Maps. Fortunately, I practiced some photography skills and had fun rollerblading. I impressively met someone from this Empanada retail store this guy that supplies a chain of coffee from around to world to the US. He is also the co-founder of a technology pharmaceutical company. Very cool guy to meet.
From this experience, I realized the importance of standing out and personal branding through fashion and photography. I wonder how many opportunities photography will bring me. Ex: Quick group for Up to Us and connections to CCNY food bosses. Photography adds purpose to whatever I am doing.
Apex
I went with the Apex community to teach a 3rd grade of students. They are very sweaty and overly nice to everybody. I wish Jayden were like that when I first met him. My group had the nicest kids I believe. They were a little extreme to the point of having some very extroverted and other’s introverted but I believe we need some time to get into that harmony.
Since I went earlier to volunteer I got a chance to talk with the local markets in front of the school and did my little research about their origin. To be considered local they needed to be 200 miles around NYC. The guy that I interviewed had to drive 5 hours to go there and have their booth to commercialize their products like eggs chicken maple syrup. I wonder if there are ways to make the lives of these farmers easier with tech or human resources. Do more research next time.
Why Cancer?
My aunt got cancer! How do I feel about it? Not sure… I am a very optimistic and objective person. So I just think of ways on how I can help minimize her stress so she can rest better and worry less. I was thinking of doing some research on what are the best practices for intestine cancer but we got a doctor in the family and my aunt is quite proactive about what to eat for better health so there is no need for me to do anything else. I will just be taking care of the cousins and making sure they are excelling academically and socially.
Not sure… Chinese are very sensitive to doctors and sickness. For most of them, a major sickness like cancer is a death sentence. I believe they are still living in the 90s when medical technology was not accessible and affordable for the middle and lower class. Nowadays with technological breakthroughs, we have higher lifespan than the general population in developing and developed countries. So this is my reason: Some people got cancer twice and overcame all the health challenges and they are still alive.
Now What?
Currently, I am working on 2 projects inside my college. One is a fiscal policy campaign and another is a plant-based by default campaign. The fiscal policy campaign has the purpose of raising awareness to lower the national debt by collecting pledges, hosting events, and partnering with school clubs. I just created the poster for Halloween yesterday. This project is sponsored by Up to US and they fund us 400 dollars to do the campaign.
The plant-based by default campaign has the purpose of replacing my school cafeteria menu with more plant-based, affordable, and healthy options so students can have a more sustainable diet within the school. This project is sponsored by The New Roots Institute

Religion?
In terms of God again, I persist with my ideology that god is to explain the unexplainable. Sunday I am not going back to Staten Island. I am using the Church for opportunities and social time. Besides that, I am fine being an atheist and believing in the universe.
Question
When should you kiss someone?
Like so far I had at least 3 moments in my life when a girl would be willing to kill me but not sure maybe girls just won’t ever make the move to kiss a boy first. I am not sure why should I kiss them and what that means. Why kissing is the first thing that comes to mind when it comes to romance? Is it pop culture and media? Or since the history of humanity, we always kissed to show affection? I need to do some research.
I also wonder where anal doing comes from. I do not believe these things were introduced prehistorically…
Gratitude
So grateful for Beth and who she is the best of the best and trying to make her community a better place for everybody. Beth, you are one of the most generous people I know. And yes I get it sometimes people try to take advantage of us by giving us a task that does not belong to us. It is also ok to say no. and. I did not know the hidden truth about UBA (ghetto bad asss? something like that lol). Not sure what is happening with nonprofits these days a lot of them are running into financial difficulties after the pandemic. I guess it was because during the pandemic there was a surge of money into these advocacy organizations but post-pandemic people got the things rolling again and now have less time for these side projects. NYSYLC and YAYA have been running into financial problems recently lol. Anyway, I hope you get some time to rejuvenate your soul. Maybe a morning nature walk? Maybe a little yoga or meditation. I like cooking as a way to meditate. Yeah be good Beth you r the best!! Wait!! I also love how you are so open with gratitude as we should be in this world of a lot of bad news recently!!
